The watch that helped my finally run 5k in under 30 minutes is at its lowest-ever price

I've been trying to run a 5k in under 30 minutes since 2020 and I finally managed it at the end of last year thanks to the coaching on the Coros Pace 3.

There isn't a huge discount available on the watch (Coros rarely discounts its items heavily) but this is the cheapest it will drop to.

Wearing the watch for several months taught me all about pacing, recovery and how drastically sleep and illness can impact performance.

My partner nabbed the watch immediately once I got an Apple Watch to test, but I very much intend on getting it back when I want to start working on my 10km run times.

If you want a pair of shoes to take on a sunny adventuring vacation, these sandals from Keen are some of my favorites. I tested these over the summer and they earned a place in my guide to the best walking shoes thanks to their durability, toggle fastening, and breathable design.

When I tested these shoes, I tried them out on a variety of different terrains. They're tough and protective, despite being sandals, and the rubber outer comes up to cover the toes, heels and sides of the feet, so you don't need to worry about hurting yourself on a rock.

They were a little uncomfortable for me without socks and got slick on the inside (sweat and suncream are a bad combo), so I recommend a thin layer between you and the sandal. They are suitable for use as water shoes and I took them for a paddle in a stream (after removing my socks) and was surprised at how quickly they dried off again.

They have a surprising amount of cushioning underfoot for a sandal too: not quite the same level as a road running shoe, but comparable to some of the trail shoes I've tried. They're also very flexible, meaning you can use them to clamber over rocks or tackle steep slopes.

When I first started covering Black Friday and Cyber Monday there were annual deals on two rowing machines I always looked out for and covered as soon as I saw them. They were discounts on the WaterRower and the Concept2 rowing machine. Both machines are great buys that—to be blunt—will probably outlast your capacity to use them.

Unfortunately, the COVID-19 pandemic put an end to those annual deals. In this year's coverage of Cyber Monday rowing machine deals I even include the Concept2 at full price, because I know it won't be discounted but at £990 it's still worth a look.

With a higher starting price, I tend to not do the same for WaterRower but—hallelujah!—a WaterRower model has been reduced on Amazon by 20% to £800!

There are also two WaterRowers close to £800 on the WaterRower website, the A1 and the Pure VR3. I'd choose the driftwood model over the A1 because the S4 monitor is superior. The lack of a tablet holder on the Pure VR3 discounts that one for me.

The advantage of any WaterRower is its natural feel—you are pulling against water after all. When a colleague reviewed Ergatta (a WaterRower with a built-in screen that requires an ongoing subscription, also £200 off but it costs £2,495) he noted that the "resistance feels smooth and the nylon drive strap is quiet."

He also appreciated that it had smaller dimensions than the Concept2, could be stood on its end against a wall and because it's made of wood it almost becomes a welcome design feature.

WaterRower is also the official rowing machine of British Rowing, which is a notable mark of its quality.

While there are other Cyber Monday rowing machine deals to consider, I recommend this one.

If you're looking for a top-rated pair of workout earbuds, then this Cyber Monday deal on Apple's AirPods Pro 2 is simply outstanding, and now at their cheapest ever price, they are bound to sell out.

Right now, at Amazon, there's an incredible discount of $95, which means you can grab the high-tech Apple AirPods Pro 2 for just $154, down 38% from its list price of $249. However, you'll have to be fast on this deal because Cyber Monday ends at midnight.

Resistant to sweat, water and dust, the AirPods Pro 2 earbuds are perfect for listening to music or your favorite podcast while exercising indoors or out. I'm an enthusiastic fan of the AirPods Pro 2 having purchased them earlier this year, and we've previously ranked them as best for Apple users in our guide to the best workout earbuds.

The AirPods deliver where it matters for any headphones—the sound quality. Apple's built-in H2 chip kills any distortion and I've been impressed by the listening experience. The Pro 2 delivers my music of choice with crisp, clear notes and a rich deep base.

The Noise Control features enhance this too and the Intelligent mode blocks out distracting outside sound and improves the sound of your music. Transparency mode enables you to stop noise cancellation and hear the world around you, and the Adaptive mode reduces music volume allowing you to converse easily without removing the AirPods from your ears.

You can switch listening modes, rewind or fast-forward and easily access Siri using the stem controls. There's also a handy find my earbuds option on your Apple device.

I'm currently testing the New Balance FuelCell SuperComp Trail as a walking shoe and I have to say I'm impressed. It's comfortable, breathable and light for a trail shoe.

It carries a hefty price tag of $200, but if you've had your eye on a pair, Zappos is selling the men's shoe in the Butterscotch/Deep Sea colorway for $100 and the women's for 40% off in Plum Brown/Calcium. This Cyber Monday deal is not to be missed!

Be aware that these shoes run very small. Zappos recommends buying a half-size up, but for me, this still wasn't enough. Usually a UK 5.5-6, but I wear the FuelCell SuperComp Trail in a UK size 7. If you allow for this difference in sizing, however, you should be fine.

I've been testing the FuelCell SuperComp Trail for a couple of weeks and they've handled the icy and muddy pavements I've been contending with on my dog walks. I find it hard to keep my balance sometimes, so a sole with plenty of grip goes a long way for me, especially in walking shoes.

The SuperComp Trail is designed for trail running, so I've not been using them to their full potential, but I can confirm that they're very comfortable for walking, especially on uneven and slippery terrain.

These shoes aren't fully waterproof, but can handle a bit of damp underfoot or drizzly rain. There's always a trade-off between waterproofing and breathability, and the design of this shoe leans toward the latter.

Trail shoes tend to be heavy, but these are remarkably lightweight, coming in at 8.8 oz for the men's.

I'm a big fan of cast-iron kettlebells—they are versatile training tools that can help you build upper and lower-body strength with compound moves like kettlebell swings or goblet squats.

Throughout Black Friday and Cyber Monday, I've been hunting for a good kettlebell deal and have finally found one worthy of your hard-earned cash.

Typically, you can expect to pay between $1 and $3 per pound of weight when buying fixed-weight kettlebells and dumbbells. This deal went down to $16.99 on Black Friday, but has gone up a smidge for Cyber Monday: you can now get 20lbs of weight for $25.99 on Amazon. 42% off is still a good deal, in my opinion.

Why I like kettlebells

Unlike dumbbells, kettlebells have an off-center weight distribution, meaning it challenges your body in different ways. They engage your core stabilization and your proprioception (bodily awareness) more intensely. As someone who is naturally clumsy, kettlebell workouts have significantly improved my balance, control and overall strength.

Kettlebells are fantastic for lots of strength-building exercises. I like to add them to a glute bridge, holding a kettlebell over my hips to increase the resistance. I also do goblet squats and squat thrusters holding a 20kg (44lb) kettlebell, then switch to a lighter weight for upper-body exercises.

When it comes to materials, cast iron is unbeatable for durability. I own five cast iron kettlebells of various weights and I love the slender handles they generally feature—perfect for small hands (I wear size XS gloves).

Over the years, I've struggled gripping the larger-handled plastic or vinyl kettlebells usually found at gyms as I can't wrap my little digits around them properly, whereas my cast-iron kettlebells fit comfortably and securely in my hands.

There's one piece of equipment that can make or break a walking expedition: your shoes. Wear something too flimsy and you risk getting stung by nettles or twisting an ankle. Wear something too clunky, and you can feel like your feet are dragging you down and getting overheated. 

In my opinion, the Danner Trail 2650 hits the sweet spot for a hiking shoe. It's super-light weight but still has the sturdy, robust construction you expect from Danner.

The exact model I wore during a recent trip to the French Alps is currently discounted by 25% on Backcountry.com for Cyber Monday, bringing its price down to $127.46. 

Why I love the Danner Trail 2650 shoes

I don't like hiking boots. They make me feel heavy-footed and clumsy and they often cause overheating. Plus, I hate the fiddly speed hook system you find on most hiking boots; I've seen plenty of other hikers take a tumble because they've caught the lace of one shoe on the speed hook of the other. 

Hiking shoes don't have these problems, but they often don't feel as sturdy or rugged. That's not the case with the Trail 2650. I visited the French Alps in October this year and did several hikes along rugged, mountainous trails and they were the ideal companion.

Wet weather meant that the terrain was very damp, but the shoes kept my feet bone-dry, despite only being billed as "water resistant". The construction of the shoe also kept my foot from overheating, thanks to ventilating materials in the upper and the insole.

I found that the Vibram® 460 Outsole was brilliant for grip, helping me feel sure of my footing even on scree-covered trails. This is down to the clever, multi-directional lugs (bits of rubber on the shoe's underside) which found traction on slippery surfaces. I was so confident in my footing, that I strapped my 8-month old son onto my back without worrying about trips and falls.

The shoe also has a TPU shank, which keeps it rigid. This an important feature in a good hiking shoe; it means that your foot has a solid platform that protects it from sharp objects and uneven ground. It should also provide some longevity for the shoe, helping it to keep its original shape.

This is coupled with an external heel counter, which conserves the shape and rigidity of the back of the shoe, without causing any heel rubbing. 

The above model is only available in women's sizing, but you can get men's versions too (see below). 

Alternatives

If you're looking for an everyday walking shoe, I'd recommend this Skecher's model instead. It's a pillow-soft shoe, which is great for urban, city environments.

All hikers know that a good reusable water bottle is the foundation of your gear (you can't go anywhere if you're dehydrated). But for some reason, several of my outdoorsy friends still buy their water by the liter in single-use plastic bottles, or, even worse, refill their single-use plastic bottles and risk chemical leaching.

Thankfully, there are some great offers on the best water bottles for Cyber Monday and you can pick up several top brands for under $20. If you're not sure whether you should be going for stainless steel vs plastic, I've collected a few of the ones I'll be purchasing as stocking stuffers below (some stainless steel, some plastic). 

My absolute favorite and the best water bottle for hiking in my opinion is the CamleBak Eddy+, which I use every day and is under $12 in the Cyber Monday sales. 

How to choose a water bottle for hiking

When looking for a reusable water bottle I'm always very aware of the weight. Plastic options like the CamelBak tend to be lighter (and cheaper) while steel models will be a bit heavier. 

However, steel bottles will be able to keep your drink at its ideal temperature. Plus, they tend to be more robust, so they can take a few bashes if you're scrambling over rocks. That might make them a better option for most hikers, but I prefer my CamelBak for everyday use. 

The best deal I saw during the Black Friday sales was on these 45lb Amazon Basics kettlebells, which dropped down by 46% to just $27.10. 

Sadly, it looks like this deal has now expired—but there are plenty of other discounts still available on Black Friday weights. 

Another favorite of mine, TruGrit, has a 12lb offering that has 46% off for Cyber Monday if you're looking for something lighter. And Yes4All has discounted some of its weights by over 50%. 

You can currently get this 31lb Yes4All cast iron model for $38.02, which is 52% cheaper than its original list price. While that doesn't quite match up with Amazon's cheap $27 deal, Yes4All's kettlebell is a better model: powder-coated for durability, with a seamless finish. 

I'm really into kettlebells, especially because they open the door to fun moves like the kettlebell swing. I've been lifting weights for about 10 years and I always come back to the kettlebell as a firm favorite. 

I use these weights to add resistance to glute bridges, holding it over my hips to increase the difficulty of the exercise. I also do goblet squats and squat thrusters holding the kettlebell, which increases the difficulty of the exercise and has really helped tone up my bum and legs. 

I like the Amazon's Basics range, because the circumference of the handles are small enough for my hands, so there's no risk of dropping them when I perform an exercise. In my opinion, the cast-iron and enamel coating makes these some of the best budget kettlebells.

If, like me, you don't think calluses are anything to brag about, you'll probably want some decent fitness gloves for your strength training sessions. I'm getting all my friends a pair for Christmas after discovering this year that you can get them with built-in wrist support (which was a game-changer for me, with my notoriously weak wrists).

When you get to a certain point in your fitness career, the handy knurling on barbells and dumbbells starts to chafe and you end up with lumps, bumps, and blisters on your palms. The next time you go to pick up a dumbbell, you may find sore spots on your hands prevent you from being able to enjoy your strength session and making steady progress. You could try lifting cheap weights without the knurling feature, but in my experience, they end up slipping all over the place in your sweaty hands. 

The beautiful, simple, and inexpensive solution is gloves. 

I favor this pair from ATERCEL, which are reduced by 44% for Cyber Monday, but I'll be getting several different types, depending on the friend I'm buying for. 

Pair a set of these gloves with some of the best kettlebells and you're onto a winner.

I've tested out a lot of sneakers during my stint as fitness editor for Fit&Well, but there's one model that I keep coming back to: the Skechers Go Walk Arch Fit Motion Breeze. 

They are the most comfortable, cushiony walking shoes I've ever used; I can be on my feet all day with them and not get any aches and pains. What's more, I've been using the same pair for well over a year now and they still have that pillow-y, foot-hugging feel when I slip them on. 

The pricing on the shoes has been pretty volatile over the Black Friday and Cyber Monday weekend—but you can currently get select styles and sizes at the lower price we've ever seen on the shoes ($45.99). 

There are three things that make this shoe my top choice for city walks and long stints spent standing up: the clever slip-in arch support, the springy lightweight midsole and a super-soft upper material.

I find the arch support provides an extra bit of comfort and hugs the underside of my foot. According to Skechers, this podiatrist-approved feature should help evenly distribute weight and mold to your foot shape over time—that would certainly explain why I feel fewer aches and pains with this model than with any other sneaker. 

The midsole of the shoe is made from Skecher's ULTRA GO material, which gives the shoe a springy feel—almost like a running shoe. It's lightweight though, so your feet don't feel too clunky. 

The super-soft upper is great for anyone with wider feet or splayed toes; it means that you won't experience any rubbing when you wear it. I certainly found there was no wearing-in period with this sneaker—they were comfy from the moment I tried them on.

It's also a women-only style, but the discounted Gowalk Arch Fit Athletic style below is extremely similar and available in men's sizing. 

There's a time and a place for exercise machines in your training, but there are other more affordable ways to get your cardio fix at home. 

Running is the most obvious affordable alternative to the best treadmills, exercise bikes and the like, but I want to highlight another often-overlooked item which is an ever-present in my gym bag: The Jump Rope. 

Four reasons to buy a jump rope

1. It's versatile and fun

You can skip during your circuit workout for an extra heart-rate raising element, perform some skips in isolation for a bit of mood-boosting movement, or set your sights on learning fun new skills like the jump rope cross-over or double-unders—a sure-fire way to make your training more engaging.

Word to the wise though: If you're looking to progress beyond normal skipping styles, you'll want a speed rope like the WOD Nation one above, as these have thinner cables and are made to move more quickly than thicker traditional jump ropes. 

2. It's a cheaper home cardio option

Even premium jump ropes aren't going to break the bank. 

I use the Bulldog Gear JR1 Intermediate Bearing Speed Rope, which I picked up for roughly £10 a couple of years ago. 

But if you're in the States and want a similarly affordable item, the WOD Nation Adjustable Speed Jump Rope (down 24% on Amazon over Cyber Monday) should see you right.

Both cost about 1% of the price of the most affordable Peloton Bike. Admittedly, my jump rope doesn't have a built-in touchscreen or smart features, but like the Peloton Bike it's an effective way to put my heart and lungs to work. 

3. It's effective

"A 10-minute daily program of rope skipping is as efficient as a particular 30-minute daily program of jogging for improving cardiovascular efficiency."

Or so says a 2013 study published in the American Association For Health, Physical Education And Recreation. 

Improving your cardiovascular function (relating to the heart and blood vessels) will have a whole host of positive impacts on other health outcomes. 

These include improving your cholesterol and blood pressure levels, reducing your risk of many diseases including heart conditions, and strengthening your heart and lungs, according to the Cleveland Clinic. 

4. It's compact

I like exercising, a lot. I probably wouldn't have this job if I didn't. 

So, when I head on holiday, I like to find ways to slot some sort of workout into my mornings. 

The jump rope provides an elegant solution, taking up next-to-no space in my travel bag while offering an easy way to get my heart pumping with an al fresco session. 

The CrossFit workout Annie (alternating sets of 50, 40, 30, 20 and 10 double-unders and butterfly sit-ups, completed as quickly as possible) is one I always find myself coming back to for a fast, fun challenge.  

If you're looking to buy your first set of weights, the ever-versatile dumbbell is the obvious choice.

But should you pick a set of fixed-weight hex dumbbells or a more expensive pair of adjustable dumbbells? As someone who owns both, I'm here to help you make that decision and find the best Cyber Monday deals on both types.

Hex dumbbells are like the Swiss army knife of the exercise equipment world. Whether you're tackling a strength training workout, a cardio session or even mobility-boosting moves, these sturdy weights are up to the job. That's why I use them in my own CrossFit-style training on a near-daily basis. 

However, they don't offer the same multiple weight options that the best adjustable dumbbells do. Steadily increasing the load on your adjustable dumbbell will help you build strength—but you can't do this with a fixed-weight hex 'bell. 

As you can see, both dumbbells have their merits. If you're still undecided on which one to go for, read through the advantages of each training tool below.

Advantages of hex dumbbells

1. Versatility

You can use hex dumbbells for a wider range of workouts than adjustable dumbbells, which are best kept for strength training. 

I find hex dumbbells are ideal for CrossFit, circuit workouts, high-intensity interval training (HIIT) routines, HIRT sessions or any similar exercise style characterized by more dynamic movements like the dumbbell snatch.

This is because they have grooved handles for great grip and a solid cast iron design that can handle being chucked around and bounced on the ground between reps.

Adjustable dumbbells, on the other hand, have interchangeable plates which can rattle, clang and move. They're less sturdy too, so most manufacturers say you need to avoid treating them too roughly. 

2. Robust 

The cast iron body of most hex dumbbells means that they're very sturdy. I've owned pairs for years and, bar a few scuffs, they still look pretty similar to the day I bought them. 

If you're planning to use these dumbbells at home, you may also want to seek out a set with a rubber casing around the heads. This acts as an extra layer of protection, while also saving your floor from unwanted marks. 

3. Cheaper 

Adjustable dumbbells can be excellent value for money in the long run (see below for a full explanation of why). But the initial investment can be eye-watering, with premium sets usually costing more than $400.

If you're just looking for a more affordable way to start training at home, a set of hex dumbbells can be picked up for a fraction of this price, particularly over the Cyber Monday period.

4. More practical shape 

Hex dumbbells take their name from the six-sided heads that sit on either end of their central grips. 

The six flat sides don't just make them easier to stack than their round counterparts, they also won't roll away when you place them on the floor between sets.

The shape contributes to their versatility too. The flat edges make them a stable base for exercises like the renegade rows and devil press. You can even use them as push-up stands, or for performing L-sit holds if you want a serious core challenge. 

Advantages of adjustable dumbbells

1. Progression

One of the most effective and widely-used ways to build strength and muscle is the progressive overload principle. 

In strength training terms, this means gradually making your workouts more difficult over time. So, as you grow stronger, your body continues to be challenged, providing the stimulus needed to continue making progress. 

And what's the most obvious way to make your strength training workouts more difficult? Increasing the weight you're lifting. 

You can do easily do this with adjustable options, but not hex dumbbells. 

However, increasing the amount of weight you're lifting isn't the only way to make an exercise more challenging. You can also up the number of sets or repetitions you perform of the exercise, or perform the lift with a slower tempo to increase your working muscles' time under tension. 

You can also perform a more advanced variation of the exercise. For example, swapping goblet squats for a unilateral (single-sided) move like weighted split squats will place more load on each leg. 

2. Space

A set of hex dumbbells will be slightly smaller than a set of most adjustable dumbbells. However, with some adjustable dumbbells doing the equivalent role of a whole rack of weights, the latter suddenly becomes the more space-savyy option. 

If you enjoy strength training and want to avoid the clutter of umpteen hex dumbbells strewn about your home gym set-up, adjustable dumbbells are the way to go. 

3. Value for money in the long run 

Adjustable dumbbells are expensive at first, but they represent good value for money in the long run. 

Take the Bowflex SelectTech 552s for example. Each dumbbell has 15 different weight options from 5lb to 52.5lb, and you can pick a pair up for $349 in the brand's Cyber Monday sale. 

If you wanted to buy 15 pairs of hex dumbbells mirroring the Bowflex's many weight options, it would cost you considerably more. 

Which type of dumbbell should you buy?

Now we've weighed up the pros and cons it's time to decide which type of dumbbell is right for you. 

If you've set a bit of money aside for some weights and their primary use will be for strength training, I would recommend adjustable dumbbells. 

The multiple weight options are excellent for progressing your training as you grow stronger, and the ability to switch between them in seconds with the twist of a dial on premium sets is especially handy during workouts containing supersets. 

On the other hand, if you want a more affordable and versatile at-home training option, you should make a beeline for a pair of hex dumbbells. 

These will allow you to strengthen your muscles, as well as your heart and lungs, with a wider variety of exercise styles like HIIT. 

Cyber Monday is a great time to invest in some new kit to upgrade your home gym set-up—I should know, I did it last year. I managed to kit out my workout space with some great gear for under $360 thanks to the Cyber Monday sales.

1. Kettlebell

My first recommended Cyber Monday fitness purchase would be a kettlebell.

I'm a big fan of using kettlebells for strength training because of their versatility. You can try kettlebell-specific moves like the kettlebell swing, or add them to compound exercises like goblet squats to make them more challenging. Combine the two and you can get a comprehensive lower-body workout at home.

They're also pretty affordable; this three-kettlebell set from Yes4All is currently less than $70 on Amazon.

2. Ab roller

Buying an ab roller totally changed the way I train my core, so I recommend them to anyone who wants to build their mid-body muscles. 

My balance is atrocious, so I prefer a more stable model with a wider central wheel like this this Vinsguir Ab Roller, which is on sale for 36% less than normal at Amazon this Cyber Monday. 

You can do a few different exercises with it too, including roller pikes, ab rollouts and balance push-ups, so I think it's a great choice to add to your home gym arsenal.

3. Exercise bike

Yes, you can run or walk to boost your cardio fitness. But I'm a bit of a wimp in wet weather, so I like to have an indoor option when the elements take a turn. 

The YOSUDA Indoor Cycling Bike is a top budget-friendly option, even at full price, scoring a healthy four out of five stars when we tested it for our guide to the best exercise bikes. 

I like the comfortable seat and sturdy build, finding it holds up well during both high-speed interval sessions and more sedate workouts with a book propped on the handles. 

I spotted it reduced by 43% on Amazon for Cyber Monday, so now is a great time to pick one up. 

4. Resistance bands

The final addition to my home gym is this set of resistance bands from WHATAFIT (now 50% off at Amazon). 

It earned a spot in our guide to the best resistance bands, taking the title of "best for versatility", which is exactly what I'm looking for in my home gym.

There are five different bands offering resistances of 10lb, 20lb, 30lb, 40lb and 50lb. You can also combine them for an equivalent resistance of 150lb, and use them with the complementary door anchor for added versatility.

Learning how to do kettlebell swings is an efficient way to pack all the benefits into a single move, especially as it raises your heart rate and boosts your metabolism for all-day fat-burning results. 

And if you want to add some variety, there are plenty of dumbbells on sale to work your arms and chest. To help your muscles recover after an intense session, it's worth adding the best protein powders for weight loss into your post-workout routine. 

If there's one brand that's embraced the Cyber Monday sales it's Bowflex, with reduced prices across a wide range of fitness equipment and savings of up to $500 on all sorts of gear. However, when you’re looking for fitness deals in big sales like this, it can be confusing and deceptive with lots of pieces of equipment that aren’t all that great. 

As a fitness writer, I've been lucky enough to test some of the best adjustable dumbbells, rowing machines, treadmills, exercise bikes and more. While I do think there are plenty of great Bowflex deals available to cash in on this Cyber Monday, there are a few instances where you could find more affordable alternatives that will still be a quality addition to your home workout set-up. 

Bowflex have hacked prices for Cyber Monday on their state of the art treadmill, exercise bike, kettlebell, and the Bowflex SelectTech 552 dumbbells with $70 off right now at Bowflex., giving you a great opportunity to save some pennies on big buys.

I've also suggested some tried and tested budget substitutes to help you lead a healthy, active lifestyle at home without breaking the bank. These are good alternatives to Bowflex that carry the quality of more expensive brands without the cost.

Best dumbbell deals

The Bowflex SelectTech 552s are some of the best adjustable dumbbells on the market, with a sturdy, reliable design and 15 weight options from 5lb to 52.5lb. Bowflex has dropped the price for a pair from $429 down to $349 over Cyber Monday, while their heavier cousins (the 10lb-90lb SelectTech 1090 Dumbbells) have also had their cost cut by $100. However, these aren't my favorite adjustable dumbbells, nor are they the best deal I’ve found this Cyber Monday. That honor falls to the JAXJOX DumbbellConnects, which are now down $200 in a Best Buy Cyber Monday offer.

These high-tech weights come with digital docking stations which can be used to change their weight from 8lb to 50lb (or several options in between) in a matter of moments using easy-to-understand up and down buttons. They have a  sleek, matte gray finish and slimmer plates, which didn't catch on my torso when performing bicep curls. The plates also have grooves that slide into one another, allowing them to sit securely in place without any unwanted movement (unlike the SelectTechs). 

Best kettlebell deals

With an MSRP of $149, the adjustable Bowflex 840 is inarguably expensive for a kettlebell, taking it out of the budget of some customers. It has six weight settings, from 8lb to 40lb, so I do think you get a fair amount of bang for your buck - hence why we awarded it the title of best kettlebell. This is especially true now Bowflex has knocked $30 off as part of a Cyber Monday discount. 

If you don’t want to throw 100s of dollars at a piece of equipment, I think the Yes4All Vinyl Coated Kettlebell is a top option for savvy shoppers. It's available in ten different weight options from 5lb to 50lb, so there's something to suit all fitness levels, and the cast iron body is sure to stand the test of time. The wide handle makes it ideal for exercises like kettlebell swings, while the rounded shape is better than its Bowflex rival for movements like cleans and front squats, where the weight needs to nestle in the front rack position.

Best barbell deals

As with the kettlebell above, Bowflex's SelectTech 2080 Barbell is adjustable, meaning you can quickly switch between seven weight options (from 20lb to 80lb) in seconds using two dials at either end of the handle. It’s time-efficient and space-efficient home training option and the price is reduced from $599 to $449.  While this is still a hefty investment, you get a lot of bang for your buck.

Best exercise bike deals

In my opinion, the best exercise bike deal on the Bowflex site this Cyber Monday is the C7 Bike, with a $500 saving taking the price from $1,299 to $799. I'm a big fan of this machine, to the point that, since putting it to the test, the bike has taken up permanent residence in my living room.  It boasts 100 magnetic resistance levels, the flywheel moves smoothly and silently at all speeds, and it has a 7in HD touchscreen through which you can stream the expansive JRNY app for a seemingly infinite resource of follow-along workout classes. Or, if you prefer, you can use the bike with the Peloton and Zwift apps - the world's your oyster. 

But, if you don't need smart tech in your fitness gear, there are cheaper alternatives that can offer a fantastic bike-based exercise session. My pick of the bunch would be the sub-$300 Yosuda Indoor Cycling Bike, which I tested earlier this month. 

It doesn't have the touchscreen of the Bowflex C7, but it does the basics brilliantly, providing a plush, adjustable seat and a wide range of resistance settings. The metrics are basic, not going far beyond showing your speed, estimated calorie burn and distance covered on a simple LCD monitor. But this does mean you can get straight into your workout without faffing about with settings, making it a great choice for circuit training where cycling might be just one component of a wider EMOM workout. 

Best treadmill deals

The Bowflex Treadmill 22 barely feels like a treadmill at all. Instead, it seems more like a virtual reality running machine, with its follow-along video workouts, cushioned running platform, incline settings from -5% to 20% and enormous cinematic touchscreen providing a truly immersive experience. 

This doesn't come cheap though, and even with a $200 discount it's still $2,499 in the Bowflex Cyber Monday sale. It's huge too, meaning you would need a dedicated home workout space to store it. 

One treadmill that performs far better when it comes to its size and price is the Echelon Stride Auto-Fold Connected Treadmill. I loved its compact, foldable design, which can slip seamlessly into most living rooms before folding flat to store under a bed or sofa when not in use. The belt was also impressively sturdy, given its diminutive dimensions, and as a taller (6ft 2in) runner I didn't feel cramped when racking up the miles. 

There are 12 incline levels, a top speed of 12mph, and while there's no touchscreen you can enjoy engaging video workouts by linking the treadmill to the Echelon Fit app on your phone or tablet. 

What's more, you can now save more than $300 on one of these running machines in the Cyber Monday sale, with Echelon dropping the price from $1,299 to under $1,000. 

I've been tracking rowing machine deals for the last few weeks and there are some great deals as we head into Cyber Monday. Prices have, broadly, either matched last year's Black Friday prices or even dropped further. Inflation? What inflation?
