Why get a UA Sportsmask?

There's also a lot of benefit to wearing a mask outside, especially for those with breathing issues. When running or exercising in cold weather, the sudden shock of cold, dry air in your lungs can cause your breathing to become restricted. This is why it's much harder to run in the cold, and why asthmatics who run very well in more temperate weather find themselves particularly restricted.

Wearing a mask over your nose and mouth warms the air slightly before it enters your lungs, so it doesn't restrict your breathing as much. If you're considering running over the course of this winter, wearing a face mask will keep you at peak performance.

Based on Under Armour's enormously popular new design, they seem to have cracked it. The high-tech UA Sportsmask is officially in stock in both the UK and the US stores. Below, you can find out where you can get one, how to get one and, of course, what's so good about them.

Under Armour UA Sportsmask: What's so special about them?

Under Armour have created a seriously high-tech piece of kit, a world away from the flimsy disposable masks many of us are currently using. To start, the UA Sportsmask consists of a trio of layers: fabric, foam and custom Under Armour iso-chill.

The fabric is said to be light, containing air pockets to create the mask's structure. It's supposed to hold its shape, staying off your nose and mouth to allow you to better breathe through the mask.

The second layer consists of open-cell foam, which works two ways. The first is the breathability, allowing air flow to escape the mask. The second is the moisture-wicking technology, which keeps sweat and virus-carrying droplets out.

The final layer is Under Armour's iso-chill technology, used in its other workout gear. This stretchable material feels cool against the skin and has undergone an anti-microbial treatment. Stretchy earloops and sides completes the mask. More colours are expected to be available in the future.

The three layers work together to create a cooling, breathable, comfortable-fitting mask that keeps COVID-carrying droplets at bay and doesn't interfere with heavy breathing during workouts.

The Under Armour UA Sportsmask is live and can be purchased from the Under Armour website. The price is £26 for the mask in the UK, and $30 in the US. At the time of writing, both the US and UK Under Armour stores are currently in stock.

However, Dick's Sporting Goods are also stocking the mask in the US, and still appear to have some stock left.

The UA Sportsmask's triple-layer antibacterial cooling technology allows for unparalleled breathability and performance even when wearing a mask. Designed with elite athletes in mind, when the UA Sportsmask inevitably sells out immediately in the Under Armour store, Dick's will be one of the only places you can get it.

There are no third-party stockists in the UK at the moment, meaning the UA Sportsmask is currently unavailable there.
