Skechers is one of the brands that has its own category in my guide to the best walking shoes, alongside big hitters like Nike, Hoka and Brooks.

Skechers is a more affordable option, but this doesn't mean you sacrifice on quality, with reliable comfort and cushioning as standard.

I tested the Max Cushioning Arch Fit Areena Hands Free Slip-ins this time last year, and was so pleased with them that I rated them 4.5 out of 5 stars.

To get such a high-quality shoe for under $60 is an unbeatable bargain in my opinion, and that's just what they're reduced to on Amazon this week.

Bear in mind that discounts vary on Amazon, with some sizes reduced by nearly $65, and others by around the $30 mark. Flick through the colorways to find the best discount in your size.

If you've got narrow feet, Skechers might not be the brand for you, but if you need a bit of extra toe room, Skechers shoes are perfect.

I have a bunion, and these shoes have become my go-to on days when it's particularly sore. Where other shoes squash your toes together, Skechers leave plenty of space for them to splay.

Plus, the Arch Fit range gently supports the arch of the foot, which takes some of the pressure off the big toe joint.
