It's good news for Peloton fans as the US-based company is offering almost 20% off its flagship exercise bike

If you've always wanted to get into Peloton workouts but didn't want to break the bank, there's good news; the company has reduced the cost of its flagship exercise bike. The connected exercise equipment manufacturer announced that you can now save $400/£400 on the original Peloton Bike

This means you can now purchase the original Peloton Bike for $1,495 in the US and £1,350 in the UK. To make the most of your new exercise bike, you'll need to take out a $39/month (£35/month) Peloton All-Access Membership, which gives you access to the live and on-demand classes. If you're looking to check out more exercise bikes at drop-down prices, check out our Black Friday exercise bike deals hub!

In early 2020, when most of the world went into lockdown, Peloton sales soared as people opted for at-home workouts while gyms were closed and fitness classes suspended. The Peloton Bike is one of the best exercise bikes, especially when coupled with the company's live-streamed classes.

If you can get past the initial cost and recurring subscription fee, the classes are an excellent way to replicate the atmosphere of in-person training, complete with trainer feedback, music, and a degree of friendly competition with leaderboards and rankings. Built-in sensors help monitor your performance, allowing you to track your power, resistance level, and heart rate.

The price cut comes as the vaccine rollout continues across Peloton's regional markets, including the US, UK, Canada, Australia, and Germany, leading to the return of in-person classes and events. Sales growth has declined throughout 2021, particularly after the worldwide safety recall of the company's treadmills, the Tread and Tread+.

However, Peloton was a popular way to work out at home even before the pandemic. If you choose to invest, you get high-quality equipment, live-streamed and on-demand classes, and access to the Peloton smartphone app, where you can find a broader range of workouts, including cardio, strength, and yoga options.

Until now, the price has always been a talking point, as you need to buy the Bike and take out a monthly subscription for access to the classes and app. This discount is the company's first move towards making the service more affordable, especially when comparing the offering against an annual gym or fitness membership.

In its Q4 2021 letter to shareholders, the exercise equipment manufacturer noted that, "we know price remains a barrier and are pleased to offer our most popular product at an attractive everyday price point."

For those looking for a Peloton-style digital experience, you might want to consider downloading one of the best fitness apps for access to on-demand workouts. Of course, if you're looking for a low-cost option, the best at-home chest workouts are an equipment-free way to build strength in your upper body.
