Chris Hemsworth's new home gym The Shed is a one-stop shop for getting shredded—here's how to recreate it for less
Hemsworth debuted The Shed on YouTube last week and it's kitted out with Centr home gym equipment that's reduced for Black Friday
Chris Hemsworth's Centr started life as fitness app (a five-star workout app according to our Centr review), but has expanded into offering a world of workout gear, from treadmills and home gyms to adjustable dumbbells and resistance bands, too. And this Black Friday he's just slapped a 20% discount on almost all of Centr's home gym equipment, while throwing in a three-month digital membership to the app to boot.
To showcase what's on offer, the Australian actor, his trainer and his assistant recently shared a guided tour of their new secluded Byron Bay gym, dubbed The Shed: "the official one-stop shop for getting shredded," says Hemsworth in the video. You can watch them take turns to hit as many reps as they can on the seated row, bench press and weighted pull-ups, with forfeits for the loser. Spoiler: Big Hemsy cleans up.
Centr has everything you could ever need to build a Hollywood blockbuster-worthy body—or at the very least keep in reasonable shape. So, now you've seen what it can do for the god of thunder, here's a rundown of the Centr kit seen in the video that's included in the Black Friday sale, spotlighting the savings you can make before the discounts expire.

Combines a two-in-one functional cable machine for dynamic resistance exercises like woodchops and chest flys with a Smith machine for more restricted, fixed plane moves like the incline bench press. In the YouTube video, Hemsworth puts the other two to shame, cranking out a casual 25 reps on the bench.
An upgrade on the 3 Home Gym, this versatile two-in-one cable and Smith machine includes enhanced storage, an overhead pulley attachment for lat pulldowns and can be paired with the FID7 adjustable bench (below) for added lower body options. It's the first piece of kit featured in Centr's video, with Hemsworth demonstrating a flawless low row—along with some unconventional spotting tactics for his two training buddies.
This adjustable weights bench's split design offers six back-pad, six mid-pad and four seat-pad settings for an enhanced custom fit compared with standard gym benches. In the clip, Hemsworth uses it to perform incline biceps curls to maximize the range of motion—and therefore the muscle-growing effect. It can also be integrated directly into the FT2 PRO Functional Trainer, enabling you to switch from upper to lower with weighted leg extensions and curls.
An adjustable workout bench with built-in storage, it neatly conceals 12 dumbbells, two kettlebells (both sold separately) and includes two resistance band hooks for an effective full-body home workout.
With a range of 5lb up to 50lb per dumbbell, the compact Smart Stack is 10 dumbbells in one, enabling you to maximize space in your home gym. Weights are displayed in both lbs and kgs so you're never left guessing if you've bitten off more than you can chew.
This heavy-duty squat rack includes safety bars, a multi-grip pull-up bar and weight plate storage to keep your workout space neat and tidy. Plus rubber-lined J hooks and safety bars will muffle the clatter of racking and unracking the bar to keep your neighbors happy.
Designed to be used with the half rack, this seven-foot Olympic bar has a 700lb weight capacity—which we're betting even Thor would struggle to exceed. Rubber-coated weight plates ranging from 45lb to 2.5lb are included, plus two spring-loaded clips to keep everything in place.
