The Brooks Glycerin 22 has been out for a while now and I love it. However, the price tag, as with all shoes of this calibre, is around $165.

If that doesn’t fit your budget, but you like the sound of the comfort and bounce the Glycerin is known for, the men's and women's Glycerin 21 is still available and is heavily reduced at Zappos. Some colorways have dropped under the $100 mark with up to 38% off the full price.

Stock is very low, with only a few of the women's shoes left, but there are still some of the men's in stock for almost every size. You might just have to compromise on your favorite colorway if your size is out of stock. Amazon is also worth checking.

Why it's worth buying

The Glycerin range from Brooks is second to none, with the Glycerin Max (which has the same upper as this shoe but a higher stack of foam in the midsole) topping my guide to the best walking shoes.

I've also thoroughly tested the Glycerin 22, and this will soon replace the Glycerin Max as my overall favorite.

The Glycerin 21 has held a spot as the best Brooks walking shoe, with 4.5 stars, and was one of the best shoes I tested for walking (and running) in 2024.

I like using road running shoes (like the Glycerin range) when I'm walking on hard surfaces like asphalt, because the cushioning and energy return are unmatched, and they keep my feet cool and comfortable.

I tested some of the Ghost range from Brooks, but found myself slipping occasionally, so I had my eye out for similar issues with the Glycerin, but it grips reliably.

Plus, I have bunions, and the extra roomy toe box leaves plenty of room for both my foot and the corrective toe spacer I have to wear.
