Black Friday has come early for Hoka fans, with many popular models discounted in the Hoka sale.

If these discounts weren't enough, you can also get an extra 15% off if you become a Hoka member

I've also been on a hunt for discounts on some of my personal favorites, and have been pleased to find one or two colorways discounted in new season releases like the Hoka Clifton 10 and Hoka Bondi 9.

If you're not sure which shoe to choose, read on and I'll take you on a whistle-stop tour of Hokas I rate, with picks for every need.

Starting with my personal favorite, the Clifton 10 improves on the details of the Clifton 9 (which I was also lucky enough to test).

I prefer these as running shoes, but they're also excellent for walking on hard surfaces like concrete, so if you're a tourist, these might be a good pick for you.
If you want a bright shade, there are still plenty of sizes in stock in the men's shoe. Stock for women's is much more hit and miss but you may find your match.
Hoka Transport - Women's

Hoka Transport - Women's: was $150 now $120.93 at REI

The transport won't be around for long, so if you need a hybrid shoe that can turn its sole to anything, now is the time to buy.

Hoka markets these as a commuter shoe, and I agree: whatever the terrain, they are reliably comfortable and grippy underfoot, but stylish enough to wear casually.

If you have issues with fine motor function, the Transport is a great pick as it has a toggle fastening option, rather than just laces.

It's more of a walking shoe than a running shoe, but as mentioned before, it really can do everything. If you're going on a quick jog at lunch time, no need to pack extra running shoes. If you're tackling a half marathon, maybe go for something a little more purpose-built.
Hoka Bondi 9 - Men's

While only on sale in one colorway, there are plenty of size options available. If you've been saving up for your own pair of Bondis, now might be the time to buy.

If you like a plush shoe with mega stacking and cushioning for days, this is the deal for you. Bouncy and able to keep you comfortable over many miles, it's good for distance runners and walkers alike. Best for the road, not the trail.

The Bondi 9 was released earlier this year, so deals are unlikely to get much better than this, although more colorways may become available if you hold out for Black Friday weekend.

These are great shoes for running everyday miles. Comfortable underfoot, lightweight and equally suitable for your race days and your "I need to run to the grocery store" days.

If you want a shoe that bridges the gap between a running shoe and a gym shoe, the Kawana does this well.

Built for side-to-side movement, this shoe is good for CrossFit, dance, or fitness classes. And if you want to run home? It can do that too.

If you like a little less cushioning underfoot than that offered by the Bondi or Clifton, this might be a good midpoint for you. Still comfortable, without the duvet-levels of plush cushioning for those that like to feel the road underfoot.

At under $100, this is one of the most affordable Hoka shoes you can find.

It's lightweight and designed to be a shoe you can run in every day. Maybe not light enough for a race day, it's still great for easy miles and pavement pounding sessions.

If you want a built-for-purpose trail running shoe (although it does well on the road too), you can't go far wrong with the Challenger 7. Although it has been replaced by the 8, it is still a highly rated off-roading shoe, and with added Gore-Tex waterproofing, there's very little to critique.

Gore-Tex usually makes shoes a little more expensive, but with this deal, the price is even lower than the newer Challenger 8, which retails at $155.
